Description
Make your Lenten observance more meaningful by attending a performance of the Last Supper Drama, as presented by the men of the West Des Moines United Methodist Church at the Salem United Methodist Church, 205 3rd Avenue, Van Horne, Iowa, on Sunday, April 1 at 7 p.m.
This drama, based on Leonardo Da Vinci’s well-known painting, shows the disciples of Jesus Christ around the table after Jesus announces that one of them will betray him, to which the disciples talk about their association with Jesus Christ and ask, “Is it I?”.
To get to the Salem United Methodist Church, take US Highway 30 to 21st Avenue in Benton County. Go north on 21st Avenue to 3rd Avenue in Van Horne and turn left. Go west on 3rd Avenue to the church which will be on the north side of the street.
This season marks the 43rd season for the drama, which is presented by the men of the West
Des Moines United Methodist Church. The drama has been presented over 200 venues around the state such as the Iowa State Center, as far away as Nashville, TN and even on television. About 20 individuals are involved with the presentation of the drama each year.
